Join me for a 6 week online workshop at the Asian American Literary Archive re-viewing the influence of classical Chinese poetry on contemporary American poetry. Some poems we’ll look at include those by Lǐ Shāng Yǐn 李商隱, Lǐ Bái 李白, Lǐ Qīng Zhào 李清照, Victoria Chang, Harryette Mullen, Etel Adnan, Jenny Xie, Jake Skeets, Sherwin Bitsui, Bei Dao, Hala Alyan, Aditi Machado, and Brian Teare. Most weeks will include writing exercises designed to help students produce a poem for workshop in the final week.
