I have to say I don't really read much young adult fiction, but I am friends with people who do and I support the same argument for diversity that goes for all contemporary arts - especially in Room for Debates! (NY Times)

Is "Game of Thrones" too white? (Salon) Look, for all my harping on about cross-racial casting, this is one argument that I think goes too far. Game of Thrones is a Middle Ages/mediaeval Europe fantasy epic. So, shall we be calling Lian Hearn's Tales of the Otori series racist because it's set in feudal Japan??
